The Summer of 2020:
A Love Story

It was the summer of 2020. While the world was filled with the uncertainty and despair of the pandemic, love was in the air. Many went crazy, others became lazy, and the vibes were hazy. It was against this strange backdrop that Paul and Holly’s story truly began.

At the time, Paul was living in a house in the heart of downtown Vancouver with his brother and a close family friend. Meanwhile, Holly had decided to head to Vancouver for the Summer. What was intended to be a harmless trip with friends to escape the lockdowns, turned out to be a decision that would alter the course of both their lives forever.

From the moment they met, they became inseparable. It quickly became apparent that this was much more than just a lockdown fling. Their love blossomed through movie nights, beach days, and a weekend getaway to Tofino. But as summer came to an end, panic set in. With lockdowns still in place and no end to the pandemic in sight, they didn't know what their next move should be.

Ultimately, they took a leap and moved to Toronto, eventually landing at Holly’s family cabin in Turkey Point. This was the ultimate relationship test: five months in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, completely isolated from society. Looking back, it wasn’t just "easy"—it provided some of the best memories of their lives. Their days were simple: working, working out, cooking at home, and watching movies. Paul even found time to play a little (okay, a lot) of online poker. It was a simple life, and neither of them would have traded it for anything.

After their stint at Turkey Point, it was obvious to both that this was the beginning of forever. The only question left was Vancouver or Toronto. After much deliberation, they chose to start their next chapter in Vancouver, signing their first lease and officially moving in together for good. Though these were massive, life-altering decisions, in hindsight, they felt completely natural.

Fast forward six years: families have met, friends' lives have intertwined, and their first house has been purchased. Now, it’s finally time to make this love story "officially official" at Rockwater Resort in beautiful British Columbia. We can't wait to see you there!
